Competition Rules

This year, we have decided not to display prints at the Mercer Mall. Instead, after the judging, we will place all entries on our website. The prints will be published as a low resolution print.  This should  avoid someone copying them, however we cannot guarantee that.  By entering our competition you are giving permission for us to post your photos on the Princeton Camera Club website princetoncameraclubwv.com and agree that we will not be held responsible.

1.  All prints must be delivered to Associated Photography, 813 Mercer St., Princeton WV 24740 in a jpeg format not to exceed 50 mb each. Digital mats, if used, must fit in the overall size.  Photos may also have more than one mat.

2. Entries for youth will be “Photographers Choice“. Anything you wish to enter is ok as long as it conforms to paragraph 6. Youth entries must be 8 inches by 10 inches (portrait or landscape) including any matting if desired.

3. Adult entries must be 11 inches by 14 inches (portrait or landscape) with the exception of panoramic which must be at least 30 inches on the long side  These measurements also include the matting.

4. Adult entries are  $6.00 per entry and youth entries are $2.00 per entry.  DEADLINE TO TURN IN ENTRIES IS SEPTEMBER 25, 2024. Judging will be held on October 5, 2024 at Associated Photography. ***Entry fees are non refundable. 

5. Categories for amateur and advanced divisions will be: People Candid, (subject does not know they are being photographed) People Portrait, (subject is posing for the photograph), Places, Things, Animals and Macros all of which will have both, Black and White and Color Categories . Panos will be photographers choice Black and White or Color.

6. No nudity, semi nudity, or controversial subjects will be accepted. The competition committee will have the final say as to what will be acceptable.

7. All entries must be delivered on identifiable drives with entry forms and fees.  Those to be returned by mail must have a self-addressed container with proper postage and if you desire, insurance.

8. Entrants should supply an email address and/or phone number in case we have a problem with photos or downloads.

9. Judges decisions are final.  Judges will be impartial, and are non members of the Princeton Camera Club.  Recognitions will be selected privately and be noted on the Princeton Camera Club website princetoncameraclubwv.com and our Facebook Page.

10. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all categories.  We also award Best of Show Youth, Best of Show Adult Color and Best of Show Adult Black and White.   If we do not have at least three entries in a category, the entries will be moved to the next likely category at the discretion of the competition committee.

11. Winning entries will be printed and mounted by Princeton Camera Club and displayed at Associated Photography until after the next meeting.   At that time prints should be picked up at Associated Photography, 813 Mercer St., Princeton, WV between the hours of 9am until 12 noon and 1pm until 5pm Monday through Friday and as soon as possible.
