The Princeton Camera Club will have it next club outing on Saturday, August 10th when we visit the Hahn Horticulture Garden in Blacksburg, VA. You can come anytime but we hope everyone can be there by 9 or so. As we come from all points on the compass, we will not meet up before you travel to the garden. Let’s keep this outings trend alive. Come on down.
This 6 acre garden is hidden on the campus of Virginia Tech and is usually empty on weekends especially when the students are not in school. There are exotic plantings, water features and leading lines out the wazoo. This is also a macro paradise-remember our August theme is Macro. We will also be there to see the outdoor art described below. Here is some info from the Hahn website:

The Hahn Horticulture Garden is open from dawn ’till dusk, free of charge. On weekends, parking is free of charge.
The Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion, which includes restrooms and staff offices, is open 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday-Friday. Please note that there are no public restrooms available on weekends.
There are mounted flyer boxes with Garden Guides located throughout the garden or download one here for a self-guided tour.
Directions: From the main entrance of Virginia Tech from Highway 460, enter on Southgate Drive, travel straight through the first traffic circle, merge into the left lane and at the second traffic circle exit onto Duckpond Drive. While on Duckpond Drive, you will pass the baseball field on your right and the Vet School on your left. Continue up the hill to the four-way stop and turn right onto Washington Street. Take the next right onto Garden Lane, which runs between the greenhouse complex and the Garden; this brings you to the Visitor Parking area and the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion.
Simply Elemental is an outdoor, multi-artist installation integrated along the garden paths, plantings, and trees of the Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech. It is held annually between August 1st and September 30th.
